A film enthusiast since childhood and raised in the countryside of São Paulo, José Orpinelli saw filmmaking as something magical yet distant. At 18, he moved to São Paulo’s capital to study International Relations and Business Administration. In parallel, he began connecting with and working in the music and fashion industries. The need to produce content for both fields led him to learn photography and editing techniques. Shortly after graduating, he decided to fully dedicate himself to filmmaking, combining audio, photography, and storytelling with a humanistic approach, exploring the complexity of human emotions.
He has a unique and profound vision in crafting his imagery. His compositions stand out with frames that break away from the obvious, and he seeks to bring organicity to his films through camera movements, lighting, direction, editing, colours, and texture.
His main experience includes producing fashion films, music videos, commercials, TV shows, and short films. Currently based in Lisbon, he frequently travels to São Paulo and works with clients in cities such as Paris, Copenhagen, and London.
